It works well in 24/7 mode for most low tech plants. However, with my 24" depth, and for some plants, I find I need a bit more midday light, so I take it out of 24/7 mode in favor of either max or high white light w/red (custom) from 10am till 3pm, then back into 24/7 mode. I have a Finnex Planted. I had custom settings before, which basically extended the max brightness for a few hours and went ultra dim at night, but TBH, I've had it on the default 24/7 for a few months now and I like it just fine.

May 01, 2017 · I run the Finnex 24/7 on my piranha tank and have found a few issues with itnot sure if the Marine model has fixed those or not. The first, which really isn't an issue but more of a lack of features is that the 24/7 mode is not programmable..it starts at 6am and runs until 8 or 9 at night.
